Several years ago I saw the need for a utility services company with a mission – a passion – to help utilities get smart about their assets. While utilities and other owners (municipalities, cooperatives, telcom and cable companies) of disparate assets do a fine job running their businesses, keeping track of assets and knowing what is connected to what is an area of opportunity. Working with utility executives, I crafted a plan to combine utility service businesses in a manner that would build a best-in-class service company designed to assist owners of disparate assets…in a smarter way than available heretofore.

Owners of disparate assets benefit from proactively managing rather than reactively managing those assets. To proactively manage an asset, owners need to have information regarding that asset and be able to monitor changes to that asset. Moreover, to usher in and fulfill the virtues of Smart Grid, owners of disparate assets must be able to proactively understand and manage those assets. To fulfill this need, we created Metadigm Services, Inc.

The inspiration on which Metadigm Services is founded is quite simple: today more than half of the electricity produced, and/or water treated, are lost. More than half. Metadigm, by integrating technology and communications systems into its services, performs services on utility assets in a way that enables the utility or asset owner to proactively manage rather than reactively manage. We are in business to help our customers achieve their share of the savings while improving the service levels their consumers receive.

Additionally, we founded and run Metadigm Services to be a great place to work.
